Reviews on Travelling Overseas

Friday, June 7th, 2013

UntitledWith the thought that our time on earth is limited, a lot of people have chosen to take travelling as one of their life goals. There are many breath taking destinations in the world that one may visit, free mountainous ranges to small valleys and suburban towns. Though it may all sound like a fun experience, there are also some risk and danger to consider. The first and most important is your health and safety.

According to travel insurance reviews on Insurance Onus, taking out an insurance policy to guarantee your safety is the easiest way to stay protected. Generally speaking, travel insurance is one of the most affordable types of insurance out there, starting from as low as $1 a day, all the way to $10 on a comprehensive cover. No matter where in the world you are going, it is always wise to plan ahead.

What should I look out for in a travel insurance policy?

According to the many reviews posted online, some of the most common features travellers tend to make sure they get unlimited claims on are cancellation fees and medical help. Then there are some lesser important categories like travel delays and liabilities. You may want to consider reading through some reviews to get more information about it yourself.

What if I’m travelling domestically?

As mentioned above, it does not matter where you are going; the risk of suffering a loss is unavoidable. You can never know when there may be a natural disaster such as flood or hurricane, or in some cases, a terrorist attack. If the price of getting a policy is what you are concerned about, you will be pleased to know that domestic insurance policies are generally much more affordable than an international one.

As a note, for those people that are seeking to travel multiple times a year, maybe because it is part of your job, there is also the option to get annual travel insurance. You will be able to enjoy going on an unlimited amount of trips and being insured for them all. Best of all, the price you pay remains the same for the entire year.

OLX for everyone

Saturday, January 26th, 2013

With the steady growth of the online marketplace OLX has to offer, and especially in India under OLX.in and in Brazil, the company is set to beat its competitors and position itself as the reference in online marketplace platforms.

In order to increase its impact and make OLX a well known, trusted and used tool for buying and/or selling online, OLX  is focusing on growth rather than on margin or profit. While other companies think rather in the short term, and try to make lots of money in a few months, this is not the right strategy if you want to establish yourself in the market or even become the market leader.

OLX wants to be market leader in India and therefore has to think in the long run. It seems as if the company is doing so, as it is reinvesting its profit in marketing. Their ads campaign on TV, which can also be seen on the company’s YouTube channel, is proving to be a success. High viewing rates, with high impact on potential consumers and good feedback so far, are showing that there is both a want and a need for a free online marketplace in India.

OLX IN LOGO

India classifieds shall move from the past in to the twenty first century, that means off the printed newspapers and off the pin boards and on to the internet where it is available for everyone. The trend is already occurring as OLX.in is increasing its page views steadily every month. In November of last year, OLX.in had had more than 92 million page views; this is 820 percent more than six months earlier. OLX.in is fast growing and establishing itself both in the minds and in the habits of its potential consumers with success.  It is a reflection of the growth of online trading in India.

Which Healthcare Administration Degree Is The Right Choice?

Friday, November 16th, 2012

Doctors and nurses are vital to the healthcare industry, but there is a team of people who are working just as hard to make sure that doctors, nurses and patients get everything that they need. These people are not always the most popular people in healthcare like doctors and nurses are. These are people who work in healthcare administration. These people are just as important as doctors and nurses. Without them, the healthcare industry would not be what it is today. These positions will still require a specialized degree. Deciding which healthcare degree is the right choice can be a huge challenge, and determining which school you attend is an even bigger challenge. Should you choose a degree that will get you the best job, or should you choose a degree that will help you get your foot in the door and get some much needed experience? That is the choice that many people are facing. Here are the differences in each type of healthcare administration degree.

Should You Get an Associate Degree?

This might be the easiest healthcare administration degree to obtain. It will allow you to get an entry-level position in healthcare management and administration. This is an excellent degree choice for anyone that is looking for the shortest route into healthcare management. It might not land the most prestigious healthcare administration job, but it is an excellent degree to gather some experience in the field of healthcare administration.

The great thing about an associate degree is the fact that you can further your education later if you choose to. Many schools will allow you to apply the credits that you earned from your Associate degree to a higher level degree. There are several online programs that offer Associate degrees. These are a great way to take advantage of the freedom that only online classes provide.

Should You Get a Bachelor’s Degree?

A Bachelor’s degree is the next step up. This degree will open more doors in healthcare management and administration. This is not an entry-level degree, and students who have already earned their Associate degree may be able to use the credits from that degree towards this one.

If you are deciding to get a Bachelor’s degree from the start, you can expect to spend 2-5 years earning this degree. It provides more to students and that is why a Bachelor’s degree earns more than an entry-level position in healthcare management and administration.

There are also plenty of schools that offer online classes for a Bachelor’s degree. If you currently work, this makes it easier to earn your Bachelor’s degree. Online classes offer more freedom by allowing you to attend class based on your work schedule.

Should You Get a Master’s Degree?

This degree will get you in the door, and it will also get you a high level job in healthcare administration and management. Earning a Master of healthcare administration is not any more difficult than any of the other degrees. It just takes more time. If you already have an Associate or Bachelor’s degree, then you may be able to apply your credits towards earning a Master’s degree. This means that it will not take as long to earn this degree.

There are also plenty of schools that offer online classes for a Master’s degree. By choosing to earn your Master’s degree online, you are giving yourself more freedom to attend class whenever you want.

Online classes also offer the ability to learn at your own pace. This can be an excellent way to earn a degree faster. If you consider yourself a fast learner, then an online class will be the best choice. If you already work a full-time job, then an online class will also be much easier. This is just one of the reasons that many students all over the world are choosing to earn their degrees online.

It can be difficult to determine which career path will be the best choice. Healthcare administration jobs are becoming extremely popular. This industry is expected to experience massive growth in the next few years, and every job within this industry earns a decent salary. These are two great signs that you have chosen the right industry to work in.

Are Private Jets Just for the Wealthy?

Friday, September 21st, 2012

People frequently dream of flying off to any destination on a whim without the hassles involved with busy public airports and cranky airline staff. This kind of luxury is often seen as something that only the wealthy can enjoy. Is that really the case though?

The Private Jet Membership

A private jet membership is sometimes referred to as a “jet card” or “jet club.” These membership groups give users access to wholesale prices that are usually only available to brokers. In essence, it is similar to the pricing that certified travel agents receive on personal flights from the airlines. Each member has to have a certain amount in secured funds to use these memberships. Cards usually come with a requirement of $30,000 – $50,000 in secured funds, and they are used by those who travel via private jets occasionally throughout the year. Memberships and clubs generally start at around $100,000 in secured funds and may climb to $1 million or more. The more a person secures on a card or membership, the more benefits there are. For instance, a person who secures $1 million may receive a lower management fee than those who only secure $30,000.

Private Jet Charters or Rentals Private membership groups and cards give access to short-notice or planned jet charters. Those memberships often command discounts on private flights. However, a person does not have to hold membership in one of those groups to take advantage of a private jet rental. Private jet rentals are often ideal for large family vacations, group outings, wedding transportation and any other activity that requires taking a large group to points best reached by plane. The breakdown of the costs associated with these rentals is quite transparent with most charter companies. The person or group chartering the plane is responsible for all costs associated with the flight. These costs include:

  • Flight charges, which usually includes fuel, pilot and crew charges
  • Overnight fees for the crew and plane
  • Airport fees, including landing fees
  • Fees associated with any international travel
  • In-flight service fees such as catering, phone and Internet

Typical flight charges start between $3,000 and $5,000 per “flight hour,” depending on the size of the plane. A flight hour is an hour in the air. Overnight fees, airport fees, international travel fees and in-flight service fees vary. For instance, a flight from New York City to Los Angeles is approximately six hours. If a group of 18 people charters a larger jet at $5,000 per flight hour, the basic cost for the flight is $30,000. However, that works out to around $1,666 per person for a round trip. That’s a little higher than economy class commercial flight prices and far better than executive class, especially for short notice.Better yet, airport hassles and delays involved in commercial flying are non-existent. Add on an approximate $5000 for overnight fees, landing fees and in-flight services and it still works out to less than $2000 per person for a week-long trip.

So are charter flights really only for the wealthy? For a single person looking to charter a plane, the answer is “yes.” The average person does not have $30,000 lying around, let alone $1 million, to spend on private flights. However, when thinking in terms of group flying, it is a luxury that is definitely within everyone’s reach.

Career change

Wednesday, August 29th, 2012

You may have thought about a career change or start working for the first time. Maybe you just finished your studies and are looking for a new job that matches your expectations or you are tired of your old job and looking for a new one. With summer almost over, now is the right moment to look for a new job, lots of offers are new in the market and some of them are very attractive. Salaries are increasing and so are the job conditions.

Not only jobs in Delhi are increasingly being better paid; cities surrounding Delhi such as Meerut, Panipat, Rohtak, Hisar, Aligarh or Moradabad are attracting more and more local and international firms with interesting positions for both junior and senior positions.

Technology and sales jobs are highly demanded, but also in healthcare and retail you can find your perfect job in and around Delhi. Website developers are one of the most searched for at the moment as international companies are having their websites modernized. Creative and hardworking university graduates are on high demand at the moment. But it is at the more senior positions where the salaries are raising the fastest and where changing positions can make a big difference in your baking account at the end of the month.

Some startup companies that have recently established themselves in the northern region of India are looking for professionals to join their teams and although they may not offer the highest salaries, they are ready to pay their employees with shares of the startup company. Maybe this is an interesting option for you as you will feel a stronger bond with the firm and the long term profits are more appealing as they may be much higher if the company becomes successful in the long term.

So have a look around as your perfect job may just be waiting for you online.

10 most popular gadget 2012

Saturday, August 25th, 2012
1. apple iPhone 5

I am apple fansboy and It’s fair to say there was widespread disappointment among Apple fanboys when Apple lifted the lid on the iPhone 4S as opposed to the iPhone 5 we were all secretly hoping for. September could see the release of what feels like an overdue handset, but considering there was a 16-month gap between the release of the iPhone 4 and 4S – throwing a spanner into the traditional summer release pattern – Apple may not be gunning to relase an iPhone 5 so soon after the last model.

But a 4in screen, quad-core processor, thinner chassis, NFC and an integrated SIM sound worth the wait, don’t you think? Want all the rumours so far? Our rumour round-up should bring you up to speed.

2. samsung galaxy S3

Samsung’s Galaxy S II certainly made its mark when it showed up on the smartphone scene – and it’s still the best Android phone to buy. It’s so good we named it our 2011 Phone of the Year. Now, with the Galaxy S II almost approaching its first birthday, word on the virtual street suggests its successor – the appropriately named Galaxy S III – will come complete with a quad-core engine, 2GB of RAM, a 4.6in screen and a whopping 12MP camera. Expect the Galaxy S III to be unveiled at the end of February during Mobile World Congress – and expect it to be more powerful than ever.

3. Amazon Kindle Fire

Kindle Fire – Love it or hate it, the Kindle Fire is Amazon’s first salvo against the iTunes juggernaut. Amazon wants to sell you stuff. They don’t want to impress you with a tablet that runs Ice Cream Sandwich and can compute SETI@Home strings. The device is Amazon incarnate, an all singing, all dancing tablet for readers that will become, for many, the primary way to consume streaming video.

I’m not suggesting the Kindle Fire is great, but future Fires will be on the 2012 Christmas lists for many casual tablet users.

4. SONY PSP Vita

PSP Vita – I put the Vita here not because it will be particularly successful (handheld gaming is a hard business and phone gaming is making it even harder), but because it is the first of the next gen consoles to roll, inexorably, towards our living room. The Vita will ship in 2012, followed by E3 announcements by all the majors about updated hardware (I’m betting on a new Xbox announcement this year, but I doubt it will be released until 2014). The Wii U is next on the upgrade list while Microsoft and Sony are still trying to figure out what a next gen console is supposed to do and what it’s supposed to look like.

5. Nokia Lumia 710

Nokia Lumia 710 – A year ago I would have written Nokia off as a dead company. They were rudderless, without product, and perceived, at best, a commodity feature-phone player in a very competitive smartphone world.

With the arrival of cheap Windows Phones, however, Nokia is looking to take back the low end and win the business of folks who are either too busy, too annoyed, or too cash-strapped to invest in iOS or, increasingly, the more powerful Android flagships. To the anti-Microsoft contingent, Windows Phone is too little too late. In reality, we’re talking about Microsoft: when have they ever been on time.

There are plenty of folks out there without smartphones and no one ever got fired for picking something from Redmond for their IT fleet. Sure, the $50 Lumia 710 requires a two year contract with rebat and all that rigamarole, but the key number isn’t “2-year contract:” it’s $50.

6. Ultrabooks

Ultrabooks – Thinking back on the great netbook debacle of a few years ago: the rise in popularity, the fall in pricing, and their eventual death, it’s not difficult to imagine the ultrabook is phase two of the hardware-maker’s lemming rush. However, ultrabooks are a necessary addition to the laptop ecosystem and should be taken seriously. I could definitely see a large buyer picking up a few thousand ultrabooks for employees rather than a few thousand fat-and-heavies from Dell and Lenovo. It makes sense in terms of power, price, and portability.

Top 10 Rules for Business Travel Insurances

Friday, August 24th, 2012

If you or your employees travel a lot on business then you want to make sure that you have the best business travel insurance policy for you and that you get the most from it. There are a number of considerations to take into account and here are the top 10 rules for business travel insurance (did you know the term in Danish is Erhvervsrejseforsikring ) to make sure you get the best from your policy.

  1. Decide whether to take an annual policy for all of your employees or whether to take a business travel insurance policy on a trip by trip basis. Get a quote for both from your insurance company and see which is best for you.
  2. Ensure that your business insurance policy covers only for the things you need and that you are not paying for extras that do not relate to your business travel insurance needs.
  3. Do not assume that the insurance company you use for all of your other insurances is going to give you the best quote. As with all insurance, you should obtain several quotes and compare them. Always make sure you look at what is covered and what isn’t before making your decision.
  4. Discuss any equipment that you or your employee will be taking on the trip with your insurance agent and assure that its full monetary value is known and covered.
  5. Make sure your policy would cover for the event of your original employee being taken ill and you having to send a substitute. Most business travel insurance policies should offer this as standard and this could save you a lot of money if this should occur.
  6. Find out if the business travel insurance policy that you are considering offers to replace, hire or courier any business equipment that is damaged or lost in transit. Often a business trip relies upon a presentation and samples and if they are lost then the whole pitch could be in jeopardy.
  7. Make sure your business travel insurance policy includes comprehensive assistance. If you or your employees find yourselves with little time and a mounting problem due to illness, lost luggage or missing samples, you will be able to call the customer service centre and they will take it out of your hands.
  8. If you know that you will be using a hired car for any length of time, compare the cost of adding auto insurance to your business travel insurance against taking out the hire car company’s standard auto insurance. Often you will find that your business travel insurance works out cheaper and gives better coverage.
  9. Make sure your business travel insurance policy is comprehensive and covers every potential risk that may cause the trip to be cancelled. Often they cover the basics, but if you are flying to a developing country with local tensions then you need to know that if you are forced to cancel you are covered.
  10. If your overseas business is new and you decide to take out only a basic business travel insurance policy to start with, make sure that you can add things to it at a later date. Otherwise you will find yourself taking a new policy which may end up costing you much more than it needs to.

Samsung Galaxy SIII review

Friday, May 4th, 2012

There’s something so refreshing about seeing such fervour about a phone that’s not prefaced with an ‘i’ – so it’s almost an honour to be one of the first publications to get a proper hands on with the Samsung Galaxy S3. While the Korean firm has been subject to the same clamour for information as Apple, which will have pleased the now-largest smartphone maker after years as an also-ran in the mobile phones space, it’s not been in the same league as the Cupertino lot when it comes to secrecy.

Buying guide
20 best mobile phones in the world today

20 best mobile phones in the world today

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has been snapped multiple times in leaks – some more accurate than others, it has to be said – and the specs mooted have turned out to be pretty bang on.

Samsung Galaxy S3 review

But that doesn’t matter – megapixels and gigabytes don’t mean anything if they’re not wrapped up in a decent package, so is the Samsung Galaxy S3 a worthy successor to the much-loved Galaxy S2?

Design

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is, according to Samsung anyway, ‘inspired by nature – it sees, listens, responds, and allows you to share the greatest moments’.

While this is all a little hyperbolic, the nature theme is certainly present when you handle the phone for the first time. Brushed plastic – you’ve got a choice of ‘Marble White’ and ‘Pebble Blue’ – adorns the large device, which runs in with dimensions of 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm, despite still having to pack in a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD screen.
