Crushes are quite a big part of our life. So what do you do once you have a crush on someone? Some girls may be satisfied with simply gazing hopefully,longingly and happily at their crush and not going anywhere near them for fear of being humiliated, but other girls might want to really get out there and impress this special guy. However, that’s not always easy. For help on attracting that crush of yours.

• Don’t be easy. Not impressive, and it’ll give you a bad reputation, try to be yourself and be open towards your feelings.
• If you still haven’t gotten him yet, don’t be hyper or weird when he’s around. It’ll only make him think you’re a weirdo.
• If you are going to make a joke, make sure it’s funny and not cheesy. Try to make it on a subject he will be interested in and he will laugh at.
• If you make a lame joke and he laughs, he is probably interested in you. No one who is interested in someone wants to risk insulting them.
• Laugh at his jokes, but don’t overdo it; no one likes a giggling ninnie. When you laugh he will look at you, so don’t try and seem fake or too flirty.
• Wear your makeup light and natural. You don’t want to hide your natural beauty.
• Be friendly! Remember to be positive and ask him simple questions like how he’s doing, and take an interest in what he says.
• When he makes a joke, don’t slap him, just lightly touch his arm when you laugh. Depending on the guy, he will probably get closer to you.
• Sluttiness is not empowering. As mentioned above, wear clothes that make you comfortable, not clothes that your momma would slap you upside the head for. Make them wonder; if you look sexy wearing a jacket and jeans, how much sexier are you without them?
• Try to make eye contact. If you are tempted to glance at him quickly, hold contact for a little longer. If you’re ultra shy, it’s okay, but eye contact shows that you are feeling very open and comfortable. Staring at someone, however, connotes that you are a stalker.
• Try not to flirt with other guys around him. Jealousy is not a good feeling. It might lower his self esteem and interest in you depending on the guy. But then again, other guys might try to meet the challenge; overall, though, making someone jealous isn’t and say hi then walk away work.
• Social networking sites like Facebook are great, because you have longer to think about what you’re going to say, and if you don’t like what you’ve written, you can type something else.
• Before you go telling everyone you have a crush on this guy, you should get to know him as a friend first. You don’t want to tell everyone, and then find out he does drugs the next day. As they say, don’t judge books by their covers; don’t judge people by faces. It’s OK for you guys to just be friends; move onto someone else.
• Be confident!
• Be careful whom you tell about your crush. You never know if that person likes him too! (true true true!!!)
• Be more extra cautious. Don’t get too blinded by your feelings. He might court you and you may think he’s really serious, not seeing that he is just joking or making a bet with anyone or his friends.
• Guys are guys. When you flirt too much, they might think you want sex. It is a very not polite manner for a girl to flirt much with a guy. Specially when it’s shown to public because it will destroy your reputation and much more seriously when it’s only the two of you in a place.
• Don’t get your hopes up. If he does not seem to be attracted to you, let it go. It will only get worse if you keep killing yourself by trying.
• Don’t over-think things. It will make you loose your confidence when you don’t get what you thought you would with him.

   Clear skin means a minimal make-up routine

   Have clear skin. Take advantage of your good complexion while you’re young, and experiment so that your skin routine fits your skin type. As you’re young, you shouldn’t need to do much to keep your skin looking good. Perhaps a cleanser from a pharmacy will work for you, or maybe just water is enough.

2. Have clean hair. As above, find a hair care routine that suits your hair type. Some people find that they need to wash their hair daily, some people three or four times a week. Find a shampoo and conditioner that work for your hair, and stick to it. Take advantage of your natural attributes; if it’s wavy, choose a haircut that suits wavy hair. Ask your stylist to help you pick a shape that suits your face shape.
3. Take good care of your teeth. Brush twice daily, morning and night. Floss or use specialized dental tooth picks, not wooden ones, and use mouthwash. Keep it up.
4. Stay hydrated. Drink at least 2 litres of water per day (approx. 8 glasses) and keep up those fruits and vegetables that contain a good amount of water in them. The water will keep your skin fresh and your eyes bright, and the vitamins in the fruit will keep you energetic and healthy.
5. Emphasize the part of your body you feel most confident about. Vibrant tops if you like your upper body/arms and slimming pants if you love your legs!
6. Be selective with make-up. Choose colours and types that suit your natural appearance – aim to compliment your natural beauty. Sometimes, less is more. A little mascara (clear is good, no smudges!) lipgloss and blush is a good combination. If you have to use a foundation, use a tinted moisturizer instead; it moisturizes your skin and tints it in one product!
7. Try coloring your hair. It’s best to do this on the holidays, then you can wash the color away if you don’t like it.
8. Paint your nails. Use vibrant colors and if you can, match the colors with what you are wearing. Remember to remove the nail polish with a moisturizing nail-polish remover two days from when you applied it, to let your nails breathe.
9. Have a positive attitude. Walk confidently and smile!
10. Smell good. Choose a perfume that suits you, spray a little on your wrists and neck and wear it often. People will get used to your scent and will appreciate it.
11. Shave or wax. Do this after a shower, your hair is easier to remove then. Shave if you are on the run, but it is best to wax to prevent coarser, longer hair growing back. Plus, waxing pulls the hair roots out, so you have a longer period of time without the itchiness of hair growing back! Another hair removal idea is to pluck your eyebrows.
12. Wear jewelery. Rings, necklaces, anklets and bracelets can look great if chosen to suit your personality and your outfit. If you do not have your ears pierced but want the look, you can buy earrings that clip on your earlobe.
13. Re-invent your wardrobe. Choose clothes that express your personality but are normal everyday trends.
