Department of Defense and the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space / Lembaga Penerbangan dan Antariksa Nasional (LAPAN) to continue research and development of their missiles and rockets for science and technology purposes.

One proof of progress have been made by these two institutions is to launch rocket RX 420. An initial progress is good for science and technology, especially relating to the placement of satellites in orbit and the exploration of outer space.

President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono become the one of 100 most influential figures in 2009 made by Time magazine. According to the magazine’s official site, President Yudhoyono included to the category of “Leaders & Revolutionaries”.
Time Magazine also show opinion from Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysia former deputy prime minister who is now an opposition leader in Malaysia. According to Anwar, “since his winning in the first direct election in 2004, Yudhoyono has managed to keep the nation afloat, even during the current global recession. However, significant challenges lie ahead. Poverty remains pervasive in Indonesia, and the government must press onward with improvements to the country’s ailing infrastructure. Businesses are confronted with a bewildering array of regulations, and the country pays a heavy price in corruption and bribery”. (more…)

Director General of Customs and Excise / Dirjen Bea Cukai, Anwar Suprijadi states, the weapons arrested by Philippine authorities are legal export goods in accordance with customs procedures that carried out by PT Pindad. “It (the weapons) has notification of export of goods from Tanjung Priok, Jakarta and depart on 10 August. So it’s all are official, because the papers officially completed,” Anwar said in a visit to the Port of Belawan.

Related to the possible errors of perception on the part of the Philippine customs, according to him, it could been happen. This could be due to a lack of communication with the buyer and the ship manifest report was incomplete or not reported in the table of contents of cargo transported. “Charge on the ship is a weapon. If not reported it to be a problem,” he said.
However, Anwar continued, officially PT Pindad has exported to the specified requirements. However, if change of weapons was carried out in the sea, possibly it could just happen. “If there are changes in the sea we do not know, because we control only up to the Tanjung Priok,” he said. (more…)

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono delivers 40 units panser 6×6 Pindad to Commander of Indonesia Armed Forces / Panglima TNI in Hanggar CN 235 PT Dirgantara Indonesia, Bandung, Friday (10 / 7) morning.

The Pindad Panser Anoa APS (Angkut Personel Sedang) is a 6 x 6 armoured personnel carrier developed by Indonesia. The APS is named after the Anoa, which is a type of buffalo indigenous to Indonesia. The prototype Panser was first unveiled at the 61st anniversary of TNI on October 5, 2006 in TNI HQ at Cilangkap, south of capital Jakarta. It bears a resemblance to the French VAB.
Entourage of Head of State departs from private residence at Puri Cikeas Indah around 06.30, with cars, through a distance of 148 km. President Yudhoyono arrived in the central building management PT Dirgantara Indonesia around 08.30 and welcomed by West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan.
Arriving at PT Dirgantara Indonesia, the President led the limited meeting for 1.5 hours. After symbolically submitted the 40 units panser 6×6 Pindad attended by the Minister of Defense Juwono Sudarsono, the President then do the review. Group of Head of State is scheduled to return to Cikeas at around 13:45 after Friday prayers.

The Pindad Panser had been officially unveiled to the public at the Indo Defence & Aerospace 2008 exhibition on November 19, 2008 to November 22, 2008 after being shown in a TNI parade on October 5, 2008. As of August 30, 2008, 10 Pindad Pansers have been produced with the plan of having 150 Pansers to be produced for the Indonesian Army in time for their first deployment in 2009.

I was just hunting antiques in the flea market, and was lucky to find a military watch made in india, hmt pilot. after all this time learning about the horology and about classic watch, just this once I find military watches branded hmt. is there anyone know more detail about this watch? I’ve been googling through the internet and found only little information about this watch, when this hmt pilot watch made? and what is the price? for your information, this watch had manual winding movements, so it doesn’t need any batteries.
