Are you as smart as my neighbor’s dog?
Every morning, year round, when it doesn’t snow hard, she’s there.
Ready for our morning run together.
She knows the time I take a break from work.
And she’s there by the gravel road, waiting.
Eager, happy, excited to go.
We were even gone to Italy for three months…
And when we got back, the next morning, there she was.
I don’t get to go out there every day though.
Things intervene.
After a time has passed she goes on home.
The next morning she’s there.
It’s a joy for both of us.
