5 Reasons Why Smaller Cruise Holidays to the Pacific Islands are Not as Expensive as they Might Appear
It is all too easy to think Sydney Harbour cruises that head out to the Pacific and Fiji Islands are an expensive holiday option. When you look at what a holiday to a similar or same destination, and all the real money you end up spending, you might change your mind.
Sydney Harbour cruises that head out to Fiji and other Pacific Islands are a complete blast. If you have not experienced a cruise holiday, you will not know what I am talking about. Sundrenched beach days ending with a warm shower and dressing up for dinner as the sun sets, in the distance, to the view of another island sink into the horizon. They are good. A holiday to a similar destination by plane is just not the same. Many people will look at the price of a cruise and think they are expensive. Many people don’t even bother to check the price because the concept and image of cruises are already too expensive in their head. In reality, this is not the case. Look at the cost of an all-inclusive cruise for seven days, and consider the following points.
- Meals. When you are on a cruise ship and your meals are included, that is a lot of extra money you are saving. Three good meals are not cheap. Compare that to most holiday packages where your breakfast at most is included, and you can see more of the real price. Calculate the cost of lunch and dinner in top restaurants and deduct that from the cruise price.
- Activities. Smaller ships are the best when it comes to activities, and most operators will include many of those activities in the package price. This means you are not paying a huge amount in extra activity costs. Activity costs can easily add to the amount you are spending on those lunches and dinners each day. Take that amount off the total cost of the cruise.
- Spending Limitations. There is only a certain amount of money you can spend on a ship once you have gotten on it. The rest is in your package. You are not paying for taxis to get around. You are not going shopping in an expensive mall. You are enjoying yourself. If you do go shopping, it will be to buy something from local artisans and do your best to haggle those prices down.
- Multiple Destinations. On a normal holiday, you go to one destination for a set amount of time. With a cruise ship, you are going to so many destinations as a part of the ride. There is a lot of fun in arriving at so many places and going shore and having a look around. Try and put a cost on all of those flights and taxis and take that off the cost of your cruise.
- The Feel. Staying in a 5 star hotel on a secluded beach is a whole lot of fun. Staying on a floating 5 star hotel is way much more fun. Until you have experience it for yourself, it is difficult to appreciate the emotions, the views, the comradery, and all that goes along with being on a floating palace of entertainment and indulgence.
Cruises from Sydney out to the Pacific Islands and the Fiji Islands are a whole lot of fun. I can’t believe I did not go before. They are not expensive, and you get a whole lot more than you pay for. If you book in advance there are even more savings to be had.
