Wakebording is a great way to experience the water and get the adrenaline pumping. Here, we’ve listed some important tips for first time wakeboarders. From how to choose from a number of wakeboards when you’re starting out to the important safety precautions you should be taking, we’ve got the important tips you don’t want to miss:
Life Jackets are a must
Always make sure that you are wearing an appropriate floatation device when wakeboarding. This is the first thing you should think of before anything else.
Always make sure there is a spotter
A spotter is a person who keeps a look out for objects in the water and lets the driver of the boat know how you are travelling.
Rope length
Beginner wakeboarders should always use a shorter rope. This makes it easier for them to get out of the water. Anywhere from 30-50 feet is a good length.
The correct speed
Wakeboarding requires less speed than many other water sports. Sometimes the driver of the boat may forget this. Make sure you remind them that it takes less speed. Especially because you are new to the sport, extra speed may make things more difficult.
Gradual speed build up
Remember, it’s gradual speed build up that is best for helping to maintain your position. Don’t rush the speed increase; go at your own pace.
Know when to stand
Until you are completely out of the water keep your arms and knees tucked in and stand in a crouching position. When you are standing up, most of your weight should be on your front foot.
Tow handle position
The rope handle should be held low, parallel to the water, this is simply because it is easier to stay upright with the rope in this position.
Choosing the right wakeboard
Similar to if you were purchasing water skis or a surfboard; you need to consider your skill level when purchasing your first wakeboard. In general, beginners prefer a board with squared edges. For someone who has little experience with the sport and is not likely to be doing big air tricks in the near future a board like this allows for ultimate stability and control.
Stick at it
Like any sport, wakeboarding isn’t easy. If you have trouble at first, keep trying. Remember, practice makes perfect!
Let someone guide you
Always make sure that you have someone who you trust to guide you when you are just starting out. You want to get it right from the very beginning and the best way to learn the correct techniques is to get the assistance of someone who knows all about the sport.
Wakeboarding is a great water sport. I hope our list of tips has given you some helpful advice on how you can get yourself wakeboarding in no time, by simply following as few easy steps.

FORKED RIVER, NJ, JUNE 28, 2011 – In 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of the month (July 17, 2011) as National Ice Cream Day. He recognized ice cream as a fun and nutritious food that is enjoyed by a full 90% of the nation’s population. In the proclamation, President Reagan called for all people of the United States to observe these events with “appropriate ceremonies and activities.” With this in mind, Cowabunga Ice Cream (www.CowabungaIceCream.com) – a national super premium designer ice cream and healthful frozen yogurt brand – would like to share some tasty tidbits about ice cream and its impressive impact on our nation.

Far more than just a delicious dessert, ice cream impacts America’s economy at large. “According to The International Ice Cream Association, the U.S. ice cream industry generates billions in annual sales and provides jobs for thousands of citizens,” notes Ellen Schack, founder and CEO of Cowabunga Ice Cream. “They report that about 9% of all the milk produced by U.S. dairy farmers is used to produce ice cream, contributing significantly to the economic well-being of the nation’s dairy industry.” (more…)

Buying a house can be hard work. A lot can go wrong and delays are normal. But there are things you can do to make it easier, starting with reading this buying property checklist.

everyone wants a house
Work out how much you can afford
If you are looking to buy a house on your own, a lender will agree to offer you at least 3 to 4 times your income, so if you earn £30,000 you can obtain a loan for at least £90,000. A couple are likely to be offered 2.75 to 3 times their joint income. Some lenders will offer bigger income multiples if they think that you have enough disposable income to meet the monthly repayments. (more…)

The world is becoming a smaller and smaller place – especially where business is concerned. This article looks at ways to start building your business – around the world!
In this day and age, with the rise and fall of the Australian dollar, fluctuating economies and communication and transport that can quickly and effectively connect you with any country, the world is yours. Or more precisely, the world is your business!
Businesses have been increasingly going global over the last decade, realising the potential for clients and customers in overseas markets. These days it doesn’t matter if you have a shopfront set up in New York or none at all, you can still competitively conduct business with locals — and this goes for a range of business types, from professional services, through to clothing and speciality items. Now it is only a matter of clicking a button to order, and popping the product in the mail, or emailing advice or correspondence.
Needless to say, this opens your business up to a vast array of opportunity you may never have considered before. But how do you tap into this trend? Below are five ways you can set yourself up to achieve a global business.
1. Website
The first and most obvious step is a good website. Not something the neighbour’s teenager put together — something you have invested in, tested and perfected. If you plan to sell online, you will also need to consider a merchant facility.
When building your site, unless your targeting a very specific demographic, or your product is unique, remember users are only interested in shopping, not in your life story. Keep your site clean, uncluttered and easy to use. Homepage space becomes the best real estate for your for sale catalogue and point of sale material all at once. Be smart, be realistic and keep it simple!
2. Webinar software
Once you have gained a few international clients, you need to be able to meet with them, face-to-face, if possible. Get yourself a tried, tested and recommended webinar software that enables you to conduct online, face-to-face meetings, it will improve your communication, change the way you do business and is usually so simple it only requires a webcam or phone system.
3. Skype
Like any client conversation, not all of them will be undertaken from the office. To save your business money, consider installing a Skype App on your mobile phone, getting a cost effective data plan, and making calls over the internet.
4. Office phone
In addition to your mobile, you should also consider a VoIP – Voice over Internet Protocol – in the office. There are companies dedicated to this business phone system, which is a cheaper option for making calls. To improve your one-on-one client conversation, also consider a video phone that allows face-to-face communication.
5. Seminar
If yours is a service based business, no doubt, somewhere along the line you will want to extend your client relationship by meeting them. As opposed to meeting people all over the world, consider running some group seminars and projecting, over the Internet to clients in other areas. If you do this once a year and visit a different place each time, you will save!

Also, one series of insights has it that you should manage your money similarly to the way you golf—or rather, the way a good golfer golfs.
5 ways to save money on landscaping tools & supplies. Some towns just give out landscaping supplies—mulch, ready-to-plant trees, etc.—to residents, so long as those residents handle all the pickup and labor. Who knew?
At my old home, I was offered up to three free trees as long as I agreed to plant them on my own. I was more than happy to take advantage of this deal. After all, these trees would have cost me at least $60, if not more.
To find out what your town offers, call your local borough or township headquarters and ask if they offer anything for free. You may be surprised at what you can get this spring.
5 as-seen-on-TV gadgets that really work. Not like this is shocking news or anything, but studies show that most infomercial products are crap. What’s more shocking is that there are apparently as-seen-on-TV gadgets that are actually recommendable. For instance:
Gutter Rake ($9.95 plus $6.95 shipping and handling)
Cleaning gutters is a lot easier when you let the Gutter Rake do the dirty work for you. This T-shaped, plastic tool can extend your reach by more than 30 feet, which reduces the number of times you must climb and move tall ladders. Twist the Gutter Rake onto a broom handle, and pull gutter debris toward you with the rake’s straight end. Then, push gunk under gutter fasteners with its hooked end.

7 life lessons from the very wealthy. Well, duh: “Having money is better than not having money.” You don’t need to be rich to know that. Here’s a less obvious and more important point, very much in line with J.D.’s post on money and happiness:
Don’t become “cash rich” and “time poor.”
Devoting all of your waking hours to making money is a problem, especially in professions with a partnership fast track. Lawyers, doctors, bankers and accountants can get so caught up in the competitive nature of their jobs that they lose touch with their family. Any semblance of a normal personal life disappears, and a very unhealthy balance between work and home can develop…
Remember: What you do with your time is far more meaningful than the goods you accumulate with your money.
7 tips for never-pay-retail home decorating. There’s more to home decorating on a budget than heading to IKEA. A lot more. Like:
Research Product Names. Not all shops make their own stuff, and most won’t readily share manufacturers’ details with you. After swooning over a nine-drawer mirrored chest at a Manhattan atelier, I typed the name of the piece (which was scribbled on the price tag) into Google. Up came the maker, along with the chest’s (lower) suggested retail price and other vendors.
7 ways to find and fight illegal charges on your phone bill. The most important way is avoid these illegal charges (known as “cramming”) is also the most basic:
-Read your bill—all of it. Identifying crammed charges is easy if you keep a close eye on your monthly phone expenses and spot any unwelcome additions. Another simple way to find cramming is to avoid charging anything to your phone and wireless bills (examples include charitable donations via text message, voting charges for reality shows, weekly horoscopes and ring-tone services). Then any charge that you didn’t authorize is likely a result of cramming.
7 biggest car-buying rip-offs. Leasing is certainly cheaper than buying—at first. But …
When you lease, all you’re paying for is the difference in the car’s value from the day you take it off the lot till the day you return it, plus interest and fees.
But, once the lease term is up, you’re back to having no car and you’ve got to start all over again.

9 ways golf can help with money management. Both may occasionally cause you to want to throw something in frustration, and both are known to attract enthusiasts who dream of achieving the “Cinderella story” by hitting it big, either at Augusta or with a few smart stock picks. The point here is that a similar approach can work for golf and money management alike:
Golfers have to choose the right tool-you don’t use a sand wedge on a green. Managing your money requires you to pick the right tool to match your goal. You don’t put the grocery money in a risky investment.
10 coolest cars under $18,000. Number one on the list, from Kelley Blue Book, is the 2012 Fiat 500:
Regardless of what the Hello Kitty mafia would like to believe, cute isn’t cool. Not usually, anyway. But that’s because cute is rarely backed up by substance, as it is in the 2012 Fiat 500. It’s seven inches shorter than a Mini Cooper and positively adorable, but spend a day driving Fiat’s first U.S. offering in 28 years and you’ll discover a comfortable, livable, well-built sub-compact car that just happens to have 10 times the personality of some of its cookie-cutter competitors.

10 reasons to shop online rather than in-store. Price comparison is quick and easy, the Internet never closes, and, oh yeah, you save on gas and time by shopping online because you don’t have to go anywhere. Also, there’s no need to clip coupons to get discounts:
Finding the coupons you want online is simple, and there is no cutting required! Simply find a coupon aggregator that you love, then search for your favorite merchant and use coupon codes online. All you have to do is click to save instantly at your favorite stores! There are many different coupons online that can save you tons of money, including ones for free shipping!
16 tips for saving money on summer utility bills. Eat corn-on-the-cob raw to save on cooking costs? Hmmm … Perhaps not all of these tips are practical or pleasant. But using a clothes line rather than a dryer makes total sense:
Make that summer heat work for you: dry your clothes on a clothes line. The idea of running a heater in your house in the middle of summer just seems downright goofy. Plus, those clothes dryers wear out your clothes about ten times faster. I once set up a clothes line and had some people that claimed to be “green” get upset because they felt it looked “trashy”. Here’s a news flash: those clothes on the clothes line are your eco flag! Wave it proudly!

Where to Stay near Florence: Being in the heart of Tuscany, there are many choices outside Florence that cost less. Consider an agriturismo or vacation rental and take a bus or train into Florence for the day (both the train and bus station are within easy walking distance of the historic center). A good choice is staying at Le Torri Vacation Apartments and taking the bus to Florence.

florence
On the train line, the cities of Prato or Pistoia could make reasonable choices. Montecatini Terme, just under an hour by train, has many inexpensive hotels.
Florence has a number of hostels (not just for youth) and even a camp ground with a view of the city.
Eating and Drinking in Florence: Sitting at a bar on Piazza della Signoria can be very expensive. Restaurants on or near the square are costly, too. Walk just a few blocks from the tourist crowds and you’ll find less costly options. Here are suggestions for inexpensive places to eat in Florence, many of them popular with locals.
Florence has an excellent central covered market, worth a visit even if you don’t want to shop. It’s a great place to assemble a picnic lunch. More about Florence San Lorenzo Market.
Sight-seeing in Florence: Florence is an architectural treasure trove with many beautiful buildings to be observed. Many churches are free and hold important artworks. Florence is easily explored on foot so there’s no need for transportation. Wandering around the city and walking along the Arno River are good ways to spend the day.

We live in a world blessed with sights that are beautiful beyond words. Every human being probably dreams of visiting at least one of those places in their lifetime. Living in modern cities with high-rise buildings, we tend to miss out on what Mother Nature has to offer as well as some of the most incredible man-made structures built throughout the course of history.
Look at the places below, and you will see beauty that fills the eye and warms the heart. It wouldn’t be appropriate or humanly possible to just pick a few places from the huge collection of amazing sights around the world and call them the “best.”
They say that “beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” and there are perhaps other places that have touched your heart. For this reason, we do not claim the places included in our list are the best, but rather among the vast collection of the most beautiful places of the world.

Skardu Valley is part of the Baltistan. Baltistan is spread over an area of 26,000 square kilometres – just right below the jagged and glaciated ramparts of the Karakoram. Once part of Laddakh, it was known as Tibet-i-Khurd – Little Tibet. Archaeological exploration has proven that it was encompassed by the Silk Trade Route.
