4G The Finest Face Of High-Speed Broadband Internet

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

High speed internet has been the top news of all and sundry of the world due to economic changes which tend to force people to move to a better internet connection. There have been progressive reports on investment of super-speed internet all around the world.

Super-speed broadband internet has gone live in parts of Cornwall under a £132 million investment programme launched last year by BT with additional funding provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The new faster broadband service is available to over 1,000 customers with 14,000 more expected to be live in a matter of days. 50 customers in the area have already been connected. Around 80% of households and businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are expected to have access to faster broadband Internet through this deployment by 2014.

The first enabled areas are Chiverton Cross and Chacewater with St Agnes, St Day, Portreath, Devoran, Leedstown, Stenalees and Par expected to be live before the end of the month. These first enablements are part of a pilot scheme being run in advance of the main rollout which is expected to focus initially in South East Cornwall. The Original Announcement of the scheme quoted a high penetration of full fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) at around 50% which will offer a fast (up-to 110Mbps) and future proof option to many people in the area, but pilot connections are on a fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) basis which offers only up-to 40Mbps.

Presently this scheme has started to make an important contribution to the success of the Cornwall economy and to the lives of Cornish residents. There have been a team of about 50 engineers, contractors, planners and technicians working together to ensure that the project is able to deliver the immense benefits of super-speed broadband internet to customers in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly as soon as possible. The amount of optical fibre cable already installed – more than 150 kilometers – would stretch more than the length of Cornwall.

The Communications Workers Union (CWU) has called for the government to use money raised from the recently announced 900 MHz and 2.6 GHz spectrum auctions to be used for broadband rollout. To date, the government has committed only £530m to be made available within this parliament to help fund broadband delivery to broadband internet hotspots and slow spots. The CWU suggest that the money raised, which is likely to several billion pounds, should be used for reinforcing our broadband infrastructure.

These brings about the plea of the CWU as they welcome the Ofcom sale of 4G spectrum and also urge the government to seize this opportunity to use the funds as a welcome windfall to inject much-needed cash into the superspeed broadband Internet infrastructure across the UK.

Early investment in universal broadband will pay dividends many times over so we urge for the swift action to put the UK at the head of the superfast broadband revolution in other to bring a greater future ahead.

The Little Black Jacket – Celebrating 150 years of the Tuxedo London College of Fashion marks 150th anniversary of a great British fashion icon

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

London College of Fashion, one the world’s leading providers of fashion education and exponent of the multi-billion pound fashion industry – today announced a collaboration to celebrate 150 years of a very British icon, the Tuxedo.

http://blog.h2opinklabel.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/lcf.jpg

London College of Fashion (LCF) which attracts creative talent from all over the world, has teamed up with internationally renowned Henry Poole & Co of Savile Row and luxury fabric supplier Dormeuil on this major project to re-invent the Tuxedo for the 21st century: The Little Black Jacket – Celebrating 150 years of the Tuxedo.

The resulting work will travel internationally to a number of destinations, including as a ‘pop-up’ in Harrods and the Burlington Arcade in London and to Tuxedo Park in New York , where the black jacket was first worn in America – with other international dates for 2012 to follow shortly. Visitors will have the opportunity to chart the Tuxedo, a garment that effortlessly sums up traditional values of Britishness, excellence, fashion and sophisticated style – from its invention by Henry Poole and Co in Savile Row in 1860 to the legendary status that is has today.

Re-inventing the Tuxedo for the 21st century are a group of talented LCF BA (Hons) Bespoke Tailoring students who have been partnered with actors from the Drama Centre at LCF’s sister college Central Saint Martin’s to create tailor made tuxedos. To illustrate the creative process two films have been produced – the first a behind the scenes documentary, the second a stunning black and white fashion short.

As well as creating bespoke tuxedos, LCF has commissioned a publication by bringing together high profile faces from its extensive network of supporters, including Chairman of the British Fashion Council Harold Tillman CBE (himself an LCF tailoring alumnus) who has personally endorsed the project as a “perfect example of some of the finest British craftsmanship.” Other VIP stars who have been shot in their favourite Tuxedos,  with an accompanying vignette outlining what makes this distinctive item of clothing so iconic, include supermodel Marie Helvin, musician Mr Hudson, Gordon Richardson (Topman) and jeweller Robert Tateossian.

Professor Frances Corner OBE, Head of College at London College of Fashion has also been photographed in a specially designed Tuxedo, which has been accepted attire for women as well as men even before Yves Saint Laurent’s stunning interpretation in the 1960s. She commented, The Little Black Jacket project has been a wonderful and rare opportunity for students from different disciplines and courses – from design and styling to film and photography – to collaborate with industry and across colleges within University of the Arts London, to immerse themselves in this creative and exciting brief celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Tuxedo. This project has already attracted extraordinary interest and we are currently in discussion with various partners in the UK and overseas illustrating the iconic power of the Tuxedo.”

With a resurgence of interest in menswear, there is no better time for London College of Fashion to talk Tuxedo for the 21st Century!

15 Tips To Protect Aging Joints

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

According to the Harvard Health Publications, close to 20 percent of people in the United States have arthritis. Our joints glide, roll, bend, rotate, and allow us to walk, sit, jump, run and perform a multitude of activities with ease. However, as we age, the movements that once seemed so simple and easy get complicated as our joints creak and resist movement, causing pain and discomfort. It’s our duty, therefore, to protect our joints, maximize their utility, mobility, and function for as long as we can. How do we protect aging joints, as we get older, especially after we cross our fifties?

Try the following 15 basic tips to protect your aging joints and alleviate joint pain to make life a little easier.

1.     Supplement Your Diet With Glucosamine

Glucosamine is the connective tissue building block that helps rebuilt the cartilage that supports and cushions our joints. Since cartilage wears thin as we age, it’s good to take supplementation with glucosamine to regenerate cartilage tissue and promote joint comfort.

2.     Add Omega-3 Fats To Your Diet

Food rich in Omega-2 fatty acids such as olive oil and flax seeds help promote joint comfort, based on recent research studies. Omega-3 fatty acids get incorporated into joint cartilage cells, where they set in place several regulatory mechanisms that help your joints move smoothly.  Take in a daily fish oil supplement, cook your food with olive oil or eat flax seeds and wheatgerm along with your breakfast porridge.

3.     Eat Antioxidant-rich Food To Shield Your Joints

Free radicals damage our skin, our muscles, our immune systems and definitely our bones and joints as well. Taking in plenty of antioxidant-rich fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet along with a daily multivitamin will protect your joints from the daily damage caused by free radical damage. Scientists have discovered that elderly people with better joints contain higher levels of antioxidants in their blood and joint fluids, along with less oxidative damage

4.     Take In Regular Exercise

Exercise keeps your muscles well oiled and your joints fluid and supple. Exercises that are specifically helpful to joints are bicycle riding, which is gentle on joints, swimming that allows your body to flex fluidly, and stretches and stair climbing that strengthen your joints and keep you limber.

5.     Keep Your Weight Down

The greater your weight, the more wear and tear your joints go through. Over time, your bone structure will be unable to bear your excess weight, and will snap more easily. Your joints can tear and these minute tears in the tender tissue of your joints can get inflamed leading to further complications. Also, obesity can trigger osteoporosis and arthritis, both of which can lead to ultimate joint degeneration.

6.     Wear Comfortable Footwear

It’s necessary, as you age, to wear footwear that’s comfortable. Heels, hard soles and tight footwear add pressure on your ankle joints, making them wear out sooner.

7.     Avoid Sitting In One Place

Keep your body moving and avoid sitting in one place for more than a half hour. When you remain seated, your joints have to take a great deal of your seated weight, leading to more wear and tear. When you sit back or sleep, use pillows and cushions of the appropriate height, so that the back is straight while you sleep.

8.     Keep Your Posture Straight

Sit straight and let your body make a 90-degree angle with your knees; do not stoop. Let your weight rest on your hip and leg bones. Use adequate back support and ensure proper height alignment to a counter, table or desk. When you sit, keep both feet on the floor or foot rail. When you stand, distribute your weight and stress evenly on both feet. Keep your head level; avoid holding the head bent forward nor to one side. Do not sit on your spinal column or tailbone.

9.     Enjoy Regular Massages

Regular massages help relax your muscles and joints. Try and get a massage once a week to keep your joints supple and flexible. Don’t crack your joints or pull your fingers and toes.

10.           Eats Foods Rich In Vitamin D and Calcium

Foods rich in vitamin D and calcium will keep your bones and joints healthy and supple. Drink milk, take dairy products for calcium, and be partial to broccoli and other foods rich in vitamin D.

11.           Get Acupressure For Aching Joints

Acupressure is a great way of alleviating joint pain and discomfort. This alternative treatment method also helps make your joints suppler.

12.           Do Resistance Training

Strengthen the muscles and ligaments surrounding the joints via consistent resistance training. Doing this protects your joints from damage.

13.           Stay Dry And Warm

Rheumatism and arthritis get worse in the cold season. Keep your body warm, and wear full body thermal wear if you live in cold weather regions.

14.           Do Not Carry Heavy Loads

Carrying heavy loads will place a greater strain on your joints. Carry things on both shoulders instead of on one. If you use a backpack, ensure that the straps distribute weight evenly on both shoulders.

15.           Wear Comfortable Clothing

Tight clothes or clothes made of stiff material can keep your body from expanding naturally. Also, tight clothing can irritate and hamper nerves and disturb your muscle flexing, apart from restricting blood circulation and free flow of lymph fluid. Tight clothes weaken ligaments and can also compress your ribs.

Thanks buat team jasa penulis artikel…Saya puas sekali. Terima kasih atas kerjasama yang diberikan. Saya merasa sangat terbantu dalam menyelesaikan pekerjaan yang cukup menguras otak.
