Zinc plays a vital role in protein synthesis and improves the proper function of the immune system, stress control and blood sugar stabilization and improves metabolism. Foods high in zinc also promote weight loss and can improve night blindness and eye sight. Paying close attention to eating a zinc rich diet can increase overall health and greatly reduces the chances of miscarriage within the first trimester.
Zinc deficiency not only impairs a woman’s fertility, but males can also be affected as well. Zinc is necessary for healthy sperm production and without proper levels it can directly impact male fertility. The absence of normal zinc levels can result in a reduced sperm count and is responsible for abnormal sperm motility, both of which can result in male infertility.
